  1. Gibaran Learning Group

Current role: Professor of Management

The Gibaran Learning Group specialises in work-based learning, action learning and action research.

It is one of the few private colleges in Australia that are accredited under AQTF to award qualifications from Certificate to, and including, Doctorate levels.

My experience in this context includes:

  • Member of Academic Board and Faculty for more than 10 years.
  • Director of Undergraduate Programs.
  • Quality Control of MBA Modules in Leadership and Strategic HRM – for Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and other countries in which Gibaran operates.
  • Advocate before the South Australian Accreditation Council on behalf of the Gibaran Learning Group -advocate for AQTF accreditations since Gibaran’s inception.
  • Course development for MBA & BBA.
  1. International Management Centres Association (IMCA), UK

Current role: Associate Professor (Organisational Learning)

Award: Master Teacher

The International Management Centres Association (IMCA) is the world’s premier supplier of action learning qualifications for managers (from Certificate to Doctorate) and is accredited by the British Accreditation Council.  It is a world leader in the provision of web-based support for manager development and its state-of-the-art system, Socrates, provides support for corporate virtual universities and managers on a global basis.  Flight Centre, for example, uses the IMCA Socrates system on a global basis to develop their managers.

Ron received the IMCA’s Master Teacher Award for the quality of his work, contribution and results over more than a decade with IMCA.

Some of Ron’s achievements with IMCA include:

  • lecturer/facilitator at postgraduate level in action learning, strategic management and research methods for in-house MBA programs at Conrad Jupiter (Gold Coast) and Lucent Technology (Sydney)
  • lecturer/facilitator for open MBA programs in Port Moresby
  • design and facilitation of residential start-up workshops for MBA, PhD and research Master’s programs
  • supervision and examination of action learning/action research PhD and Master’s thesis for students and associates throughout Australia
  • various roles including academic board member, Council member and manager for tenders
  • provision of flexible learning through teleconferencing (using telebridges), audio-conferencing, web-based courseware, virtual library, global learning sets, on-line conferencing/forums and email discussion groups.

    • Director of the Master of Human Resource Management.
    • Supervision and examination of action learning/action research PhD and Master’s theses.
    • Lecturing at postgraduate and undergraduate levels in human resource management – strategic management, interpersonal skills, organisational design, organisational change and development, strategic human resource management, and personnel management.

  1. Consultancy re AQTF Accreditation
    • On a paid consultancy basis provided written advice to a State-based Accreditation Council on the implementation of the new Associate Degree within the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF).
